In our practices and partnerships, we want to put people and the earth first. The entire hope of our work is to give people good things – meaningful work, positive products, made in harmony with the earth. We believe that life and work should be beautiful. This belief is not abstract; it is a practice, a way of life.
We are building a community of people from around the world who desire to provide material security, purpose, and work for each other through our collective coffee purchases. We are able to do this for each other by being a network of coffee drinkers, roasters, brokers, millers, and farmers who all share the same core values. Instead of participating in the current system, which takes as much as possible from people and the earth for the disproportionate benefit of a few, we can cooperate as people who are oriented toward generosity, trust, justice and love.
We all have an essential role in this community. Some are creating excellent coffee, and others are drinking it. Wherever you find yourself, we will collectively create positive change in the world. Our goal is a long term, monumental, cultural shift. We want every bag of coffee we sell to free people from the systems that oppress people and the earth.
This work has begun. It is underway. There are coffee people just like us who are already experiencing freedom from these destructive systems and are able to live simple, integrated lives. What we need now is for households to see what is taking place around them, and to consciously participate in their role as coffee drinkers.
